The University of Kalba invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Public Relations within the College of Art, Science, Information Technology, and Communication. We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual with expertise in Public Relations, a strong academic background, relevant professional experience, and a passion for both teaching and research in the field. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our dynamic academic community and play a significant role in shaping the education of future PR professionals. The selected candidate will actively contribute to the growth and development of the College of Art, Science, Information Technology, and Communication at the University of Kalba.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver both undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations, organizational communication, and related subjects.
  • Utilize innovative and effective teaching methodologies to engage and inspire students.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enhancements within the department.
  • Pursue cutting-edge research in the realm of public relations and organizational communication.
  • Publish research findings in respected academic journals and present at conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on research initiatives and actively seek external funding opportunities.
  • Maintain active involvement in professional organizations associated with public relations and communication.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners, facilitate internships and experiential learning opportunities, and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to students aspiring to pursue careers in public relations.
  • Contribute to departmental and university service by participating in committees, providing academic advising, and engaging in other relevant activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and engage in community outreach.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Hold a Ph.D. in Public Relations, Organizational Communication, Communication Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching, emphasizing a strong commitment to student engagement and achieving learning outcomes.
  • Possess a track record, or exhibit potential, for scholarly research in the field, with a history of publications in reputable academic journals.
  • Professional experience in public relations or organizational communication is highly advantageous.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for collaborative work with colleagues and students.
  • Exhibit a firm commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in both teaching and research.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages is required.
