Position Summary:
The Language Center at the University of Kalba invites qualified and enthusiastic candidates to apply for a language instructor position. The commencement date of this position is January 2024.
Qualifications:
- English native speaker with a master’s degree in TESOL/TEFL/TESL or equivalent from an internationally recognized university accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education.
- Certificate in CELTA/ DELTA is a plus.
- Minimum five years of international ESL/EAP teaching experience in a similar Academic English teaching environment.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver ESL/EAP courses, schemes of work, and individual lessons tailored to students' needs, interests, and existing knowledge.
- Contribute to curricular design, syllabi development, resources creation, marking policies, and teaching strategies in the department.
- Undertake formative and summative assessments, implement interventions as necessary, and mentor students at all levels.
- Utilize digital technologies to create interactive learning environments and apply effective learning practices.
- Contribute to departmental self-review, evaluation, and improvement planning activities.
- Perform assigned administrative tasks by the program/department, college, and university.
- Engage in professional activities and community service.
