Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, including core courses and specialized electives.
- Utilize innovative teaching methodologies, programming languages, and technology to engage and inspire students.
- Create and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments in accordance with industry standards and academic guidelines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, fostering their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations, in the field of computer science.
- Contribute to the advancement of knowledge through academic publications in reputable journals and participation in conferences.
- Pursue opportunities for research funding and collaboration with industry partners.
- Participate in curriculum development and enhancement to ensure the computer science program remains current and aligned with industry needs.
- Integrate emerging technologies, software development methodologies, and real-world applications into the curriculum.
- Advise and mentor students regarding academic and career goals.
- Provide guidance on course selection, internships, and job placement opportunities in the field of computer science.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, committees, and academic governance activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall academic mission of the institution.
- Engage with the technology industry through outreach, networking, and partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or terminal degree in Computer Science or a closely related field is typically required.
- Strong expertise in computer science principles, algorithms, programming languages, and software development.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development.
- A record of or potential for scholarly research, with publications in respected academic journals.
- Professional experience in the computer science field is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in programming languages and software development tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
