Dr. Okba Kazar obtained his Engineer’s diploma, Master’s, and PhD degrees in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Constantine. He has been a Full Professor since December 2011 at the Computer Science Department of the University of Biskra, where he played a significant role in its establishment. He is also the founder and former director of the Smart Computer Science Laboratory (LINFI) at the University of Biskra (Algeria).
Dr. Okba Kazar served as a member and president of the technology section of the National University Committee for promotion from Associate Professor to Full Professor at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research from 2013 to 2021.
He was also a member and president of the scientific committee of the Computer Science Department, a member of the scientific council of the College of Exact Sciences and Natural Sciences and Life, and a member of the University of Biskra’s scientific council. Throughout his career, Dr. Okba Kazar has published over 415 papers in international journals and conferences.
He has served as a chair and session chair at several international conferences. Additionally, he is a reviewer for several international journals and conferences, a member of editorial committees, and serves as the deputy editor-in-chief of a journal.
He has authored three books: "Artificial Intelligence Manual", "Big Data Security" and "Artificial Intelligence by the practice", in addition to 17 book chapters. His primary research interests include artificial intelligence, with a focus on multi-agent systems, prognostics and health management (PHM) in medical and industrial domains, enterprise resource planning (ERP), advanced information systems, robotics, web services, semantic web, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, cyber-physical systems, and digital twins.
Dr. Okba Kazar has been a visiting professor at numerous universities across Europe, particularly in France, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates. He is currently at Kalba University.
