Designed for students aspiring to careers in sport rehabilitation and sports medicine, the program prepares graduates to prevent, assess, treat, and rehabilitate injuries across diverse sporting and physical activity settings, from amateur participation to elite sport.

Developed in alignment with the competency framework of the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT), the curriculum combines strong scientific foundations in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and therapeutic exercise with extensive clinical and professional training in injury assessment, exercise rehabilitation, neuromusculoskeletal evaluation, soft tissue interventions, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation planning, and return-to-play decision-making.

A comprehensive clinical education framework forms a central component of the curriculum, incorporating progressive professional experience placements, clinical practice courses, and a research thesis. Students complete more than 700 hours of supervised clinical training in hospital and professional practice settings, enabling them to develop advanced practical skills, clinical reasoning, and professional competencies aligned with contemporary sport rehabilitation standards.

Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, clinical competencies, and practical experience required to pursue professional licensure and registration as Sport and Exercise Therapists in accordance with applicable regulatory and professional standards.

Entry Requirements
General Requirements

Applicants seeking admission to the Bachelor of Science in Sport Rehabilitation must satisfy the University's general admission requirements, including:

  • Completion of a recognized secondary school certificate or its equivalent with a minimum overall average of 70%.
  • Applicants must not have been dismissed from another institution for academic or disciplinary reasons.
  • Applicants must be medically, physically, and mentally fit to pursue university studies.
  • Submission of the online admission application, all required supporting documents, and payment of the non-refundable application fee of AED 250 before the published deadline.
  • Students will only be permitted to register for courses after completing all admission requirements and submitting the required documentation.
  • Applicants admitted conditionally must satisfy all conditions within the specified period to maintain their enrollment.
English Requirements

As this program is delivered in English, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency by meeting one of the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 90% in the Grade 12 English subject; or
  • IELTS Academic 5.0 or higher; or
  • TOEFL ITP 500 or higher.

Applicants who do not satisfy the English language requirement may be granted conditional admission and will be required to successfully complete the University's Remedial English course during their first semester.

Specific Requirements for College of Sport Science Programs

In addition to meeting the University's general admission requirements, applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Sport Rehabilitation must:

  • Applicants must successfully complete and pass the College of Sport Science Pre-Participation Medical Examination, prior to admission to ensure they are medically fit to participate in the program's practical and physical activities.

Professional Licensure and Classification

Graduates of the program may be eligible to apply for professional licensure through the Sharjah Health Authority (SHA), subject to meeting all applicable licensure requirements and regulations in effect at the time of application.

For professional licensure purposes, graduates are classified under the Allied Health Professional category as a Sport/Exercise Therapist, as defined in the UAE Professional Qualifications Requirements (PQR). This classification supports graduates in pursuing professional practice opportunities within healthcare, sports performance, and rehabilitation settings.
