Position Title: Assistant Professor in Criminal Law
Job Description:
The College of Law at the University of Kalba announces its desire to appoint an Assistant Professor in Criminal Law who possesses strong academic qualifications and scholarly expertise. The candidate is expected to contribute to delivering high-quality education in the field of Criminal Law at the undergraduate level, actively participate in curriculum development, conduct scholarly research, supervise student projects and research, and engage in academic activities and community service, in alignment with the vision and mission of the College and the University.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver courses in criminal law at undergraduate.
- Employing innovative and effective teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enhancements within the department.
- Publishing research in respected academic journals and presenting at conferences.
- Maintain active involvement in professional organizations related to law.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students pursuing careers in law.
- Contribute to departmental and university service through committee participation, academic advising, and other activities.
- Adhere to confidentiality and other ethical standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and engage in community outreach.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in the relevant field.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold a Ph.D. degree in criminal law
- Demonstrate expertise and a strong research track record, evidenced by publications in reputable academic journals.
- Possess experience in teaching criminal law.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines for course preparation, grading, and administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages is required. The short-listed candidate will be interviewed.
