Dr. Nour Mustafa Daoud

Assistant Professor

Biography

Dr. Nour Daoud earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Padova in Italy, graduating in 2022 with the distinction of Cum Laude. Her research focused on Gender-based Violence against Women in Migrant Communities.
Dr. Daoud has a broad range of international experience in both academia and industry, having worked in cities such as Amman, Beirut, Jerusalem, London, Rome, Padova, and Utrecht. She spent four years teaching at LUMSA University in Rome and four years as a research fellow at the University of Padova. She also contributed to the Refugee Law Initiative at the University of London for two years.
In addition to her academic work, Dr. Daoud served as a research consultant at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome. She later held the position of Senior Analysis and Evidence Advisor at the ICRC’s Middle East and North Africa Office, overseeing various humanitarian projects with budgets exceeding 1 million USD.
Dr. Daoud serves as a peer reviewer for several academic journals, including Violence Against Women (Sage), Gender Studies (Taylor & Francis), and Refugee Survey Quarterly (University of Oxford). She is also an active member of the European Sociological Association and the Italian Sociological Association.

  • Ph.D. in Social Sciences: Interaction, Communication, and Cultural Construction (Curriculum: Sociology), University of Padova, Italy, 2018–2022, awarded Cum Laude. The Ph.D. was funded by a full scholarship from the University of Padova, totaling 57,600 Euros over four years.
